The final deadline for delegates to register to attend the 2016 National Road Safety Conference is rapidly approaching, with a limited number of day delegate places still available.Anyone wishing to attend the annual event, which is taking place in Bristol on 15-16 November, has until this coming Friday (4 Nov) to book their place.

While all the residential places have sold out, people can still attend as a day delegate, and book for the conference dinner as well if they wish.

The 2016 National Conference is being organised by Road Safety GB South West and staged at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre. The event is co-sponsored by Colas, Jenoptik Traffic Solutions, Insure the Box and Jacobs.

Almost 300 people have registered to attend and the final number will be very close to, or may exceed, last year’s record of 309 attendees.

Taking the theme ‘Bridging the gap between theory and practice’, the conference will comprise 33 presentations from more than 40 speakers across the main agenda and fringe programme. 22 organisations will participate in the exhibition which runs alongside the conference.

The main agenda features sessions on road user psychology, public health & road safety, social marketing and a round up session covering other topics.

The programme also includes the now traditional Question Time session, and 2016 also sees the introduction of a new optional session, ‘Pick my brains’, in which experienced road safety practitioners will provide advice and help on a small group basis. One of the two Fringe sessions will focus on speed management.

The cost of attending as a day delegate for Road Safety GB and Academy members is £95 for a single day and £135 for both days. For non-members the fees are £165 and £205 respectively (all prices plus VAT).
