Pauline Reeves, Deputy Director of the Road Safety Division, Department for Transport

Pauline Reeves is a Senior Civil Servant with more than 20 years’ experience of working across central government, local government and the private sector. Currently Deputy Director in charge of the Road Safety Division in the Department for Transport, Pauline was previously in charge of Sustainable Accessible Travel and delivering the Prime Minister’s ambition for cycling, working with a wide range of stakeholders and other government departments.

Pauline's other posts have included responsibility for delivering performance improvements for local government and delivering impact and challenge for Departments in London for the economy (BIS), child poverty (Treasury and DfE) and nationally for worklessness (DWP) and the Olympics (DCMS).

Her experience also covers a number of corporate roles including delivering a restructuring programme involving more than 3,000 staff. In a secondment outside the Civil Service, she was appointed Deputy Chief Executive and Company Secretary of British Training International, an international marketing company exporting NVQs.

She was also a Private Secretary to a Cabinet Minister and two Lords Ministers in the departments of Employment and Education.
