Supporting older drivers through ADI training

Road Safety GB secured DfT funding in 2018 to commission the design and evaluation of an Approved Driving Instructors (ADI) Older Driver Training course.

The course aimed to improve an ADIs understanding of the issues drivers face as they age including eyesight, diabetes, driver self-regulation and retirement.

The course was seen to be necessary as ADIs receive little input on these issues during their initial training. This presentation will present an overview of the course and the evaluation findings.
