Safe System education through webinar series

Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership have adopted their Road Safety Strategy to 2030 with the aim to reduce killed and serious injuries by 50% by the end of the decade.

The implementation of Safe Systems began in 2022 with the formation of five working groups for each element. Through the work of the Safe Road User working group a gap was identified with young drivers and riders and engagement with parents. In January 2022 the partnership, working with FirstCar, ran a webinar event aimed at the parents of young drivers. This focused on key aspect of the Safe System for the age group including being test ready, choosing the safest vehicle possible for their budget, and safe speed on rural roads. The webinar was a great success with 600 people registered and over 200 attending the event.

Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership has also delivered a webinar with the support of the National Young Rider Forum, aimed at young riders and parents, which focused on all elements of the Safe System.
