The Biker Down Toolkit

This presentation will present the new Biker Down Toolkit which has been developed to assist in the delivery of the free three-hour Biker Down session. Biker Down teaches riders what to do if they are the first on the scene at a collision involving a fellow biker.

Topics covered by the course include: how to manage the scene if you come across a collision; how to help an injured rider by providing early intervention at the roadside; and motorcycle-specific first aid – how to remove a helmet and practical tips on safer riding


Tony Crook, Lead Officer for Road Safety, National Fire Chiefs Council

Tony Crook is a proactive member of the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) and is the NFCC lead officer for road safety. Tony is a member of both the NFCC's Prevention Coordinating Committee and the Children and Young Peoples Executive Board.

Tony is an area manager within Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) and has served for 29 years as a fire-fighter. He has held a number of strategic management positions and is currently the head of the Service Development Department, responsible for response and emergency planning and corporate programme and intelligence.

Tony is additionally a member of the Executive Group of the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership (LRSP) and chair of the LRSP Joint Operational Group.
