E-Scooters (& other micromobility): Safety Considerations

Ryan Lowry, Police Co-Ordinator, Irwin Mitchell

Ryan Lowry left Merseyside Police at the start of 2023 after 17 years’ service to join Irwin Mitchell as Northwest Police Co-Ordinator. He now provides expert advice and support to the firm's solicitors and clients, including conducting investigations, collaboration and liaison with criminal justice partners.

He also delivers teaching, CPD and events to UK police forces as a subject matter expert based on his practice and experience in the fields of roads policing and collision investigation.

Ryan spent the last two years of police service as the inspector in charge of the specialist training and equipment portfolio. Prior to that, he spent six years as a roads policing sergeant conducting the roles of fatal collision lead investigator, family liaison coordinator, pursuit tactical advisor and principal serious collision review officer.

Prior to working in roads policing, he was the force prosecution manager for all road traffic offences, managing the police prosecution team working closely with the Courts & CPS.
