Rider Safety vs. Unsafe Online Gear - Tackling the hidden risks of buying motorcycle clothing online

This presentation examines the legislation requiring motorcyclists’ clothing to be independently tested and certified, and the standards developed to help manufacturers meet those obligations.

It highlights how regulation and oversight in traditional retail and trade show environments have built strong consumer confidence, while online marketplaces continue to provide a safe haven for sellers of proven unsafe products. The session will conclude with a proposal to tackle this growing challenge.
