Motorcycle Safety – Building the Momentum
This presentation will explore the key points that emerged from the Road Safety GB Motorcycle Safety Conference in February 2025, and what these indicated regarding the steps towards safer motorcycling. Measures which need to be incorporated into the Government’s Road Safety Strategy will also be considered - not just practical measures, but areas where knowledge gaps exist and further research is indicated.
The presentation will also explore motorcycle safety developments over the course of 2025, including a look at what the Road Casualties Great Britain statistics for 2024 tell us. How motorcycle safety is approached in other countries will also be considered and how these can help inform work in the UK towards motorcycling being fully incorporated into the Safe System.
But importantly, this presentation will seek to build on the positives that came from the RSGB Motorcycle Safety Conference, with the aim of generating further momentum towards safer motorcycling as part of the future of transport.
