The UK’s largest independent road safety charity, IAM RoadSmart has around 77,000 members, including a nationwide community of volunteer Observers who deliver our Advanced Driver and Rider courses supported by over 170 local groups.

We believe that the development of knowledge and skills is essential to the safety of all road users and are therefore continuously looking for new routes to deliver training and assessments to the general public, especially to road users in high-risk categories.

We also support both public- and private-sector employers in fulfilling their duty of care toward employees who drive for work, by providing a suite of online risk assessment tools and on-road coaching specifically designed for business drivers. Our range of courses extends to modular on-road sessions focusing on specific skills, classroom-based workshops, and app-based e-learning.

As one of the largest providers of DVSA-Approved drink-drive courses, IAM RoadSmart is proud to play an important role in helping convicted drink-drivers to return safely to the roads after a ban.

Some of our most successful initiatives, especially those aimed at young drivers and mature drivers, have been delivered in collaboration with local authorities and emergency services, so we are always looking to forge new relationships with Safer Roads Partnerships and PCCs to help convey our training courses to communities on a local level.
