The FlineBox: the world's first interactive breathalyzer terminal
Fline, a Belgian company founded in October 2021, was established with a clear mission: to promote responsible alcohol consumption. This mission was inspired by the personal tragedies of its founders, who lost their grandmother and a mutual friend to accidents caused by drunk drivers. To address this issue, Fline developed the world's first interactive breathalyzer terminal, the FlineBox, to make alcohol testing accessible in venues where it is consumed.
Fline's mission is straightforward yet impactful: to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their alcohol consumption, thereby improving road safety. Partnering with Dräger, a leader in alcohol sensor technology, Fline developed the FlineBox, which offers free, on-demand alcohol level testing in festive environments, encouraging responsible behaviour.
Adelin Jacques de Dixmude, Co-founder, Fline
Adelin Jacques de Dixmude launched Fline in partnership with his best friend and brother. How do two brothers end up developing a solution to drinking and driving? Unfortunately, as in many stories, it starts from a painful experience: Maxence and Adelin lost their grandmother in a collision caused by a drunk driver.
Being the victim of such a tragedy made them very aware of the risks of drinking and driving. While it was crystal clear for them that they couldn’t drink and drive, once they started going out, they realised that this wasn’t obvious for everyone.
The year Adelin turned 18, he lost a mutual friend in a car accident linked to alcohol. That was enough for them seek a solution to this pressing issue, and when the two brothers formed Fline.
