Dave Baldwin, Head of Insight, Thatcham Research
Dave Baldwin joined Thatcham Research in 2017 following a 25+ year career in insurance. He has worked across the industry as an insurer, broker and consultant, most recently as head of motor modelling at Direct Line Group, having held previous management roles at Service, Towers Watson, EMB, Ageas and the AA.
Through a variety of UK and worldwide pricing projects he has built up an understanding of the subtleties and similarities across different markets, as well as developing a deep insight into the dynamics and ongoing challenges of the UK insurance market.
Since joining Thatcham, Dave has worked on developing requirements for the safe introduction of assisted and automated vehicles, while exploring the potential insurance impacts of new technology.
