Behavioural Change Interventions to address speeding: novel categorisation and piloting using surveys and real-world observation
BR-UK (Behavioural Research – UK) is an ESRC-funded hub to achieve a step-change in the quality and quantity of behavioural research in the UK. It will be a pivotal resource in shaping responsive and informed policies, helping research users to benefit from behavioural expertise.
One of the case studies in BR-UK concerns behavioural change interventions to address speeding. Using a novel review method using the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology, the most promising interventions to reduce speeding in car drivers have been identified.
This approach will be described, along with, if available, data from a pilot study using self-report survey data on speeding intentions to estimate the effectiveness of the best interventions, and plans for an on-road observational study of their impact on real behaviour in the Smart Mobility Living Lab in London or other real-world settings.
