Making roads safer for Warwickshire’s equestrian riders
Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership has worked with the British Horse Society to develop and distribute dead slow boards to properties, livery yards and stables across the county.
Over the past year, 90 boards have been distributed to raise awareness of the Highway Code changes and passing horses safely. The boards have been used in conjunction with close pass operations by Warwickshire Police, and social media activity.
The year-long activity has seen a reduction in near miss and collision reporting with an increase in perception.
