The ENDS training is a programme designed to enhance the hazard anticipation skills of young novice drivers in particular. The training is VR based and delivered through a Head-Mounted Display (HMD). It involves presenting nine driving scenarios where potential hazards are hidden from view either through the geometry of the roadway, or through the presence of an obscuring vehicle, along with hazards caused by visible elements (e.g. cars or pedestrians) who might plausibly enter the driver's pathway. 

Participants are provided with information on where they should be checking in each of these scenarios, and are then tested to see if their visual scanning patterns improve.

This workshop is intended to be useful for any local councils considering the implementation of this type of training for young drivers.
