How's My Driving?

Thirty years ago, a simple yellow badge began appearing on fleet vehicles across the UK, asking one question: “How’s My Driving?”

What began in 1995 as a freephone public feedback initiative, has grown into one of the UK’s longest-running road safety initiatives, helping reduce incidents, improve communication between drivers, their fleet managers and the
public, as well as fostering a culture of care across fleets of all shapes and sizes.

But How's My Driving? is so much more than just a feedback tool; it encourages mindful driving, supports behaviour change, and strengthens communication and relationships. In an era dominated by AI and telematics, How’s My Driving? remains refreshingly human and effective and most of all, independent and objective.

Of course our service has evolved over the last 30 years and while the yellow badge remains iconic, today’s members benefit from:

    • A bespoke online portal to manage feedback, download reports, and track trends.
    • Behavioural insights dashboards to support training and compliance.
    • Real-time reporting tools to spot repeat patterns early.
    • Toolbox Talks and driver wellbeing resources.

What many will not realise is that How's My Driving is a social enterprise and any profits are reinvested into national road safety and wellbeing initiatives. This year, at National Road Safety Conference 2025, How's My Driving are delighted to share with delegates the latest initiative they are backing to help improve safety on the roads - a think twice device which helps drivers set their intention for a safe journey.
