Safe-Speed systems were created to meet the requirements of communities that want to address road safety challenges and have been proven to reduce speed when installed. Many towns, villages and parishes are used as alternative routes for commuters to by-pass traffic congestion but they do so without adherence to local speed limits and therefore community members’ safety.
The Safe-Speed system combines intelligent ANPR cameras, speed radars and analytical software to identify speed offenders both day and night so that the worst or most persistent can be warned. The system is also able to highlight traffic behaviour to justify future traffic and speed calming measures. The Safe-Speed system has been developed in collaboration with the police and community groups to pro-actively reduce speed and increase safety.
